Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr on Friday inspected Kiamba Water Pan rehabilitation works in Kasikeu ward.

The dam is set to serve over 1,500 livestock and provide essential water resources to 500 households in the area.

"The refurbished dam, with a capacity of approximately 50,000 cubic meters, will serve over 1,500 livestock and provide essential water resources to 500 households in the area," Kilonzo said.

The ambitious water harvesting project is a cornerstone of Governor Mutula's vision to ensure every resident has access to water within two kilometers of their homesteads.

By facilitating irrigation, the project is also set to boost local food security.
