Murder convict Jowie Irungu's father is dead.
Sixty-four-year-old Julius Irungu died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital Annex.
His wife, Anne Thama, said the man has been suffering from cancer but did not reveal the specific type of cancer.
She said her husband has been in and out of hospital due to the disease until his demise on Saturday.
The distraught woman could not reveal much since the emotions were still raw.
Irungu, his wife and daughter, attended most of Jowie's court hearing sessions in the murder case where he was charged and convicted of killing 28-year-old Monica Kimani.
