Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says that he admires Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's ability to fight.

His remarks came after they met at the consecration of Kameme FM presenter Bishop Ben Kiengei.

According to the former Vice President, it was also his first time sitting that close to Gachagua.

"This is my first time to sit next to Rigathi Gachagua. I admire your ability to fight," Kalonzo said.

He was referring to the reported infighting within Kenya Kwanza, where some elected leaders have openly shown defiance for the DP, despite him being the second highest ranking official in the ruling party ranks.

Kalonzo assured Gachagua that should his party decide to table an impeachment motion against him, as has been reported, the Opposition MPs will stand with him.

He insisted that Gachagua is a courageous leader and he should be supported to perform his mandate to the people.

"To those dishonourable MPs, I say this: if you try to bring an Impeachment Motion against Rigathi Gachagua, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leadership and Honourable Members will Vote No!"

Kalonzo said that Gachagua should not be afraid of being called a villager.

"Politics is local and Gachagua should not be afraid of being called a villager," he said.

Other leaders present at the consecration held at Jesus Compassion Ministry (JCM) in Ruiru include Eugene Wamalwa (DAP-K leader ) former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Karungo Thangwa (Kiambu senator ) and Ruiru MP Simon King'ara.
