Dr Austin Omondi has been released popularly known as Japrado.
Confirming the same, KMPDU Secretary General Davji Atellah posted photos of himself with colleagues including Japrado.
"Our colleague Dr Austin Omondi has been released. We condemn in the strongest terms possible the impunity, the threats, intimidations and the act of fear-mongering cannot work," he said.
Japrado also took to X to confirm his release.
"I have been released," he tweeted.
His release came shortly after he appealed for support demanding his release.
"I was this afternoon abducted by the Police incommunicado while conducting a blood donation drive at the Sikh Union," he claimed.
Dr Omondi claimed his family and legal representatives have been denied access to him.
"I appeal for your support in demanding my immediate release."
