A group of anti-Finance Bill protesters on Monday stormed the office of Nyali MP Mohamed Ali to express their dissatisfaction over the MP's alleged failure to declare a stand on the Finance Bill 2024.

The MP was absent at the National Assembly when his counterparts were voting for the Finance Bill 2024.

The youthful group marched to his Nyali office during which they sought his answers on whether he supports the Finance Bill or not.

Lydia Adhiambo said they were concerned that the MP had not made it known his stand on the matter.

“Being a Monday, our message is that power belongs to the people. It is our vote that took him where he is, today. We came to greet him and to let him know that we are watching him,” she said.

“It either MP Ali says no or no to Finance Bill, nothing else.”

The gate to the MP's office was locked and the protesters were not allowed access.

It was not clear whether the MP was in the office or not.

During the Anti-LGBTQ protest, Adhiambo lauded the MP for coming out strongly to support them.

She at the same time demanded the same support on the matter concerning the Finance Bill 2024.

The group vowed to join their counterparts countrywide in staging the mother of all demos on Tuesday.

The group expressed reservations about the abduction of key leaders of the protests, allegedly by security personnel, saying that will not stop them from pursuing their agenda.

“We’ll not succumb to intimidation.  We will fight for our country until the end,” Swaleh Abdallah Swaleh said.
