A group of protesters on Tuesday destroyed a banner bearing the name of President Willia Ruto even as they protested against the Finance Bill, 2024.

The group was part of protesters who turned up in solidarity with other Kenyans opposing the bill.

The banner was erected days before Mashujaa Day celebrations held in Kericho last year and had remained since then.

A wheelbarrow symbol belonging to the UDA party was also pulled down.

The group first converged at Moi's Gardens around 9am to pressure the Kenya Kwanza government to withdraw the controversial financial bill 2024.

The group vowed to continue with demos until the government drops the financial bill.

Speaking one after the other, the young demonstrators in their early 20s told  Ruto to heed their calls and persuade his MPs to drop the Finance Bill.

The group vowed never to relent until the government yield to their demands.

Police had allowed the youths to protest but were required to do so within the confines of the law.
