The County Assembly of Machakos is on fire now.

The Assembly was set ablaze by demonstrators in the town on Tuesday.

Before the tens of the youth got to the Assembly, they engaged police officers in running battles within Machakos town as they chanted anti-Finance Bill 2024 messages.

The youth lit live fires, barricaded roads using stones and pulled down several signposts on Machakos roads.

They gained access to Machakos County Government headquarters and stoned properties including vehicles that were packed in the premises.

In Kangundo, Machakos, County government offices were also torched alongside a tractor.

Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule's office was also torched during the protests.

The protestors unsuccessfully attempted to access Machakos MP Caleb Mule's offices within Machakos Township but they were repulsed by antiriot police officers.
