A suspected phone snatcher who had disguised himself as a protester was Thursday nabbed and handed over to police officers deployed to manage demonstrations.

The incident which happened at Moi Venue saw protesters chant a "thief is here" attracting the attention of those nearby.

The suspect was first clobbered by protesters before he was handed to the police.

The police officers handcuffed him before taking him to custody.

The incident happened even as hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Nairobi to protest against the Finance Bill.

Police on Thursday were forced to disperse some protesters that were already gathering in Nairobi's CBD.

White smoke was seen along the  Muindi Bingu streets as some demonstrators scampered for safety.

One protester was seen daring the police as he chest thumped in front of them at the Central Business District.
