A section of Eldoret bishops is urging Generation Z to allow President William Ruto to fulfill his promises following the Finance Bill protests.

They emphasize the need for patience and tolerance among Kenyans, acknowledging the nation's current challenges.

The clergymen were led by Bishop Wilson Kurui who is patron of the Uasin Gishu county Gospel Ministers and Bishop David Ndhiwa.

Bishop Kurui said the youth had passed a clear message to the president and the government which should not be ignored.

Kurui said the youth should also not overstep in their reactions by seeking to change the government.

“Now it's time for our children to withdraw from street protests and give Ruto a chance to act," Kurui said.

He said they now want the youth to pull back from the streets and go to churches for spiritual guidance.

Kurui said as church leaders, they were saddened and regret the loss of lives and destruction of property during the protests.

“We still need the country as Kenyans and we now urge our youth to cool down and stop destroying the same country we need," Kurui said.

He said the leaders must also learn lessons from the protests and stop assuming Kenyans.

“It's now a reality that we must always listen to Kenyans especially the youth as concerns on how we run the country."

The clergymen have asked the government to firmly deal with corruption and help create job opportunities for the youth.
