Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has come to refute claims that she has been doing business with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Reports doing round on social media have suggested that Omanga is making a lot of money from government tenders.

Firing back, Omanga said she neither works for the government nor does business with it.

Omanga went on to state that she has never benefitted from President William Ruto’s administration.

"I need to clear a misconception. I, Millicent Omanga, neither work for the government of Kenya nor am I a tenderpreneuer in this government. I'm a private person doing private business. Isitoshe, I've never benefited from this government either in cash or kind. Wanted to make this clear!" she said on X.

In March 2023, Omanga was among the people appointed by Ruto as Chief Administrative Secretary. She was to serve in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

Ruto made 50 new appointments to the CAS post but three months after, the court slammed breaks on the appointments.

A three-judge bench comprising Justices Hedwig Ong'udi, Kanyi Kimondo and Aleem Visram found that the law was not complied with in the establishment of the office.

In February 2024, Omanga denied receiving monies from the government in salaries for the nonexistent position of Chief Administrative Secretary.

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai had sensationally claimed that Omanga “went for Sh700,000 pay from State House on Friday” apparently as her pay for the CAS post.
