The African Union Advisory Board against Corruption (AUABC) has announced the postponement of the 8th African Anti-Corruption Dialogue.
The decision to postpone the event comes amidst logistical challenges and intention to increase engagement.
"We aim to provide a platform for stakeholder engagement on advancing regional efforts to combat corruption and promote good governance across the African continent, "the statement said.
However, AUABC added that they will in return host a virtual event on July 11th, 2024, to commemorate African Anti-Corruption Day.
The virtual event will focus on the theme: ‘Effective Whistleblower Protection Mechanism: A Critical Tool in the Fight against Corruption’.
The AUABC expressed gratitude to the Government of Kenya for their continuous support and partnership in organizing these crucial gatherings.
"We deeply appreciate the Government of Kenya's unwavering support in our efforts to combat corruption and promote good governance," said AUABC.
"We remain committed to rescheduling the event at a later date to provide a platform for regional dialogue on anti-corruption initiatives."
The dialogue was originally scheduled to take place from July 9-10, 2024, at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
