Ruto appoints Emmanuel Nzai chair of Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board

Jumuiya ya Kaunti CEO Emmanuel Nzai

President William Ruto has appointed a new chairperson to oversee the Kenya Vision 2023 delivery board. 

In a gazette notice dated July 5, Ruto appointed Emmanuel Kombe Nzai as the new chairperson of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board. 

Nzai's appointment will be for three years. 

His appointment took effect on July 5, 2024. 

Nzai will replace Caroline Kariuki who has served as the chairperson from July 2022. 

Nzai is a public policy professional with a passion for social innovation and economic development.

Before his appointment, Nzai served as Chief Executive Officer of Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani Secretariat which he also founded. 

Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani is a regional economic development organisation representing Kenya’s six coastal counties; Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu and Taita Taveta.

In this role, he coordinated the economic development cooperation of the six counties and key stakeholders. 

Nzai also ensured policy harmonisation, promotion of regional assets and mobilization of investments towards the economy to create wealth and shared prosperity for the communities.

Nzai has also tried making a career in politics. In 2017, Nzai was the running mate of Ekuru Aukot under the Thirdway Alliance party during the general elections.

Kenya Vision 2030 was launched by former President Mwai Kibaki in 2008.

It was launched as a vehicle for accelerating the transformation of our country into a rapidly industrialising middle-income nation by the year 2030.

The Kenya Vision 2030 aims to provide a high quality of life to all its citizens by 2030 in a clean and secure environment.
