As congregants of the Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) mourn their departed founder and overseer Bishop Allan Kiuna, leaders have joined in with messages of condolences.

Kiuna passed away on Tuesday at a hospital in Nairobi where he was undergoing treatment.

In her tribute, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi described him as a gallant soldier, promising to stand with the family in prayer.

"My heart goes out to Rev. Kathy Kiuna and her family as the nation mourns the loss of a great teacher of the Word and a pillar in the body of Christ," Pastor Dorcas said.

"May God comfort and strengthen you to bear this great loss of a father and husband."

She also sends a message of condolence to the JCC fraternity and the entire body of Christ, wishing them the peace of God to reign in their hearts at this difficult moment.

"Our Bishop has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). To God be the glory. My departed brother rest in peace and shine on to glory until we meet again at Jesus' feet," she added.

Music Copyright Society of Kenya boss Ezekiel Mutua on his part said the late Bishop Kiuna preached with zeal, power and conviction and did not hold back even in the face of criticism.

Mutua said Kiuna's powerful sermons and transformative leadership made JCC a global brand.

"He has touched so many people with the power of his faith. He served his purpose in his generation and has rested from the scourge of cancer," he said.

"My sincere condolences to Rev Kathy and the entire family, the JCC fraternity and the church at large. May Bishop's soul rest in peace."

Bishop Margaret Wanjiru also sent her tribute, describing the late Bishop Kiuna as a "great man of God who blessed many with his sermons and contribution to the expansion of the Kingdom of God".

"Words are not enough to describe his immense dedication and achievements. For all the lives he touched including mine, we give God all the glory,"  she added.

Bishop Wanjiru noted that they do not mourn, but rather celebrate Bishop Kiuna's life because "we know that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life".

She wished Rev Kathy Kiuna and the JCC family comfort and strength now and in the days to come.
