Housing Ministry advertises 4,000 vacancies for interns

The Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development has advertised paid internship opportunities under the affordable housing program. 

The Ministry stated that it is looking for up to 10,000 university graduates who will be recruited in phases.

Lot 1 seeks to recruit 4,000 interns who will work under the supervision of professional consultants already engaged and contracted by the State Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The opportunities available include areas like architecture, quantity surveying, construction management, civil engineering, structural engineering, and mechanical and electrical engineering.

Others are land surveyors, geoinformatics, landscape architecture, interior design, social development, urban and regional planning, environmental science, health and safety, communication and branding, and ICT.

The Ministry said interested candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree in the aforementioned disciplines from a recognised university.

The internship will last for a year.

The interns will be employed and renumerated in accordance with the terms governing internship as per the Public Service Commission.

"On successful completion of the internship programme, the interns will be issued with a testimonial and a certificate," the Ministry said.

Interested qualified graduates are urged to apply through the portal www.ahpjobs.info by July 19, 2024.
