State House has removed all dismissed Cabinet Secretaries from its official website.
In a search through the government website two hours after the dissolution of the Cabinet on Thursday, the Star found that all names of respective Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney General had been removed from the website.
Only the names of President William Ruto, the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau remained on the website.
This follows President Ruto's bold move on Thursday to dissolve the Cabinet in its entirety.
"I have decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General of the Cabinet of Kenya except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs and of course, the Office of the Deputy President is not affected in any way," he said.
The latest cabinet changes are the second since he took office in September 2022.
Ruto stated that he will engage in extensive consultations across different sectors and political formations and other Kenyans at large.
Nonetheless, Ruto assured that government operations will continue uninterrupted under the guidance of PSs.
“I will immediately engage in extensive consultation across different sectors and political formations and other Kenyans both in the public and private sector with the aim of setting up a broad-based government that will assist me in accelerating and expediting the necessary, urgent and irreversible implementation of the programme that we have including other radical measures to deal with the burden of debt, to explore ways raising resources, expanding job opportunities, eliminating wastage and slaying the dragon of corruption,” he said.
The President said he wants to make the government, lean, inexpensive and efficient.
