Three people have been arrested 114 rolls of bhang seized by police in Mlolongo, Machakos county.
One of the suspects was also found with four litres of illicit brew.
The trio was nabbed during a police swoop in Mlolongo township within Athi River East subcounty on Friday.
The matter was reported at Mlolongo police station at 1pm as an operation on illicit drugs and brew.
Police said two of the suspects are aged 23, while the third is 27.
“Kindly be informed that this command carried out an operation within Mlolongo township and arrested the following for selling narcotic drugs (bhang) and illicit brew (chang’aa) ,” a police report seen by the Star reads in part.
Police said the 27-year-old suspect was arrested near Quickmatt supermarket in Mlolongo after he was found in possession of 57 rolls of bhang.
A second suspect was arrested near Impala area with 51 rolls of bhang.
The third suspect was arrested behind Shell petrol station while in possession of six rolls of bhang and four litres of chang’aa.
The suspects are being held at Mlolongo police station awaiting arraignment at the Mavoko Law Courts on Monday.
Police said the rolls of bhang and illicit liquor have been safely kept to be used as exhibit in court.
