Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana now says that Gen Z stings like bees.

In a statement after President William Ruto dismissed his entire Cabinet, Kibwana described them as "worthy heirs" of late freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi.

He said that through them, Kenyans are going to have a new Kenya, where the people and the Constitution hold power.

Kibwana said the country can now smell the third economic liberation.

"New Kenya, nothing less! A land where the citizens and the Constitution are sovereign under God. Gen Zees you sting like Bees. You worthy heirs of Dedan Kimaathi whom you will bury in dignity.

"Asante. We can smell the Third (Economic) Liberation and Ubuntu," he said.

After weeks of demonstrations over the 'punitive' Finance Bill, 2024, President William Ruto rejected it and recommended the deletion of all clauses in it.

In additional measures, he announced austerity measures last week, and on Thursday, Ruto dissolved his entire Cabinet save for Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

The Kenyan youths have called for an end to wastage of public resources and corruption.

After firing the Cabinet, the President said the affairs of the Ministries will henceforth be coordinated by Principal Secretaries until a definitive cabinet is appointed.

"I have decided to dismiss with immediate effect all cabinet secretaries and attorney general of the Cabinet of Kenya except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs," Ruto said.

"And of course, the office of the Deputy President is not affected in any way."

The Head of State said the new cabinet will be named after extensive consultations across all sectors.
