He said Ogembo was a great judge who was always respectful but firm, and who paid fidelity to the Constitution and the law.

Ingonga expressed his condolences on behalf of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"On behalf of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and on my own behalf, I wish to convey our condolences to the family, friends, Judiciary and entire legal fraternity," Ingonga said.

He acknowledged the profound grief associated with losing a loved one and offered prayers for strength and grace during this difficult time.

"Losing a family member, colleague, friend, or relative is one of life's most profound sorrows, and I can only imagine the depth of grief and sadness you must be experiencing."

"We pray that the Almighty God grants you strength and grace during this trying moment," he said.

"May He comfort and strengthen you all as you navigate through this period of mourning. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared with him."

Ogembo had worked for the better part of Tuesday, July 16 before he retired home alone.

His driver dropped him to his residence.

But when he went to pick him up Wednesday as usual, he realised he was not responding to calls and texts.

The driver had to seek help to access the house where the body was found, police said.

Police said the driver informed them he had complained he was not feeling well on Tuesday before he went to bed.

They waited for the family to arrive to access the scene and process it.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
