The Kenya Education Fund (KEF) is undertaking a week-long training programme for dozens of beneficiaries of its scholarship programme who have completed their education at various institutions.

KEF said the training seeks to provide beneficiaries with the necessary tools to navigate the exciting yet challenging transition.

The intensive programme covers a diverse range of topics, including financial literacy, CV writing and interviewing skills, governance and leadership, negotiation skills, communication skills and stress management.

“At KEF, we believe in investing in the holistic development of our scholars,” said KEF Country Director Francis Ng’ang’a.

“The workshop goes beyond academics, providing graduates with the essential life skills they need to thrive in university, the workplace, and their communities.”

KEF is a non-profit organisation that provides scholarships to bright and underprivileged students in Kenya.

Since its inception, KEF has empowered more than 4,500 students to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential.

Implemented effectively over the last 11 years, the training combined with mentorship opportunities from older KEF alumni, empowers graduates to make informed decisions about their futures and career choices.

The workshop equips them to excel in their chosen fields, become responsible individuals, and contribute meaningfully to the global community.

KEF places a strong emphasis on the mental well-being of its students, ensuring that this aspect of their development is nurtured and cultivated.

KEF encourages the youth who have completed their secondary education to take advantage of the numerous opportunities available to them, such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes, scholarships, and other global opportunities.

Through initiatives like the workshop, KEF seeks to pave the way for a brighter future for Kenya’s underprivileged youth, fostering a generation of well-rounded, capable, and confident individuals ready to take on the world.
