KDF and Anti-riot police in Eldoret secured key installations in the region including the Eldoret International Airport and the State Lodge among other facilities amid fears of GEN Z protests.

Some of the KDF officers were deployed at the airport and others took charge at the Eldoret State Lodge located within the Elgon View area.

Heavily armed anti-riot police patrolled along all the streets as others on more than 15 lorries and landrovers went rogue in the region.

However, there were no reports of youth gathering for protests as Uasin Gishu police commander Benjamin Mwanthi said security was normal in the area.

“There is calm everywhere with usual business going on,” said Mwanthi.

This came as the county government fenced off areas destroyed in previous demos to begin repairs.

The national library and the county court were among the facilities damaged in recent protests.

Police also erected roadblocks on all routes around Eldoret.
