President William Ruto has made additional nominations to the Cabinet.

In his address to the nation on Wednesday, he named some of the previously sacked members to the Cabinet.

These include:

  • Ministry of Youths and Sports - Kipchumba Murkomen
  • Ministry of Tourism - Rebecca Miano
  • Ministry of Public Service - Justin Muturi
  • Ministry of Trade - Salim Mvurya
  • Ministry of Labour - Alfred Mutua

This is the second list of nominees to the Parliament, after the President named 11 members of Friday.

Then, he named six former Cabinet Secretaries, one who has been reshuffled today.

The six retained included Kithure Kindiki (Interior and National Administration), Aden Duale (Defence), Alice Wahome (Lands, Public Works, Urban Development and Housing), Soipan Tuya (Environment, Climate Change and Forestry), and Davis Chirchir, who transitions from Energy to Roads and Transport.

The President nominated Rebecca Miano for the position of Attorney-General, previously serving as CS for Investment, Trade and Industrialisation.

On Monday, Ruto made further changes to his Cabinet nominees with Soipan Tuya taking the Defence Ministry while Aden Duale being moved to the Ministry of Environment.

In the list of nominees submitted to the National Assembly for vetting, Miano's name had been omitted, with questions on why that was.

This was answered on Wednesday when her name was read among the CSs and reshuffled from the AG's position.

The President has yet to name the nominees for the AG and Asal and Semi-Arid positions.
