Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday morning embarked on a morning walk at Hombe forest, which is near his home in Mathira, Nyeri County.
The Hombe Forest is part of the Mt Kenya ecosystem.
The DP described the walk as "deeply refreshing".
"Morning walking is a great adventure for a strong body stature and an ignition of a highly productive mind," the DP said in a message on X.
"The tranquillity of the majestic canopies was incessantly interrupted by the charming chirping of various choirs of birds and other animals, reflecting the enriching and therapeutic benefit of reconnecting with nature in such an intact ecosystem of flora and fauna."
He added that he was encouraged to encounter the people -farmers and traders -up early in their daily hustles of nation-building.
