Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has declined calls to enter President William Ruto's government and take up the role of Attorney General.

The veteran politician who is an ardent critici of President William Ruto's adminstration Saturday said he is not interested in the position.

Karua'who was reacting to an endorsement by a social media user  Peter Kariuki who said she fits the Bill said "Thanks not interested".

Kariuki in his endorsement message said:

"I support Martha Karua for the position of Attorney General. Her advice is much needed by the Government. Martha Karua should take the position immediately."

The Narc Kenya leader has maintained a hardline stance over the prospects of joining the Kenya Kwanza government.

She has been among a group of Kenyans who have been calling for the exit of Kenya's Kwanza government for failing to meet the expectations of the people.

His party issuing a notice of intention to exit Azimio after four members of ODM joined Ruto's cabinet is her latest indication that she is not willing to work with Ruto.

Her party’s intention to withdraw from Azimio came as a surprise considering her assurance during a radio interview on Tuesday that her relationship with coalition boss Raila Odinga was solid.

"We talked not too long ago, and we'll be able to talk again, the lines are open,” Karua said.

In rejecting to be part of the government of national unity, Karua instead called for the strengthening of the opposition to continue mounting pressure on the Kenya Kwanza government to fulfil its promises.

She said Raila's idea to withdraw his candidacy for the African Union Commission would be a Godsend to support the mission.

“To his credit, he has said he is even ready to forfeit his candidature at AUC which means he has now freed himself from being arm-twisted," Karua said during the radio interview.

ODM members named to the cabinet are  John Mbadi (Treasury); Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy); Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and MSME Development) and Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum).
