Kenya Kwanza Women representatives have vowed to move across the country to rally women to engage their sons and daughters in a bid to tame mass protests witnessed in the country.
The group seeks to have the youthful population engage President William Ruto on issues that can better the nation.
By engaging women, they aim to soften the hard stance of Gen Z that has seen them take to the streets in the last month.
The group of leaders Monday visited the third county in Marsabit where they urged the youthful population to join the government in transforming the country.
Led by Deputy Majority Whip Naomi Waqo and Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss, they emphasized the importance of a peaceful nation.
They maintained that lack of peace affects majorly women and children.
Waqo urged Gen Z to cease staging countrywide demonstrations and agree to the calls to form a government of national unity where their issues will be amicably addressed.
"Women are the pillars of our country. When they get hold of peace as women, we will achieve that. If they stand for development, we will get that. We have dedicated ourselves as women of this county to preach peace," She said.
Gladys Boss further expressed confidence that President Ruto has an ear for the youth and women of this country and that he means well for this nation.
“Let's give the government support because our President William Ruto is committed to transforming our country. He is committed to making the country's education shine through the current education model,” she said.
Leaders present in the Marsabit visit were Faith Gitau (Nyandarua), Betty Maina (Murang’a), Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga), Leah Sankaire and Liza Chelule among others
