Cabinet nominee for Interior and National Administration Kithure Kindiki has placed his net worth at about Sh694 million.

"Two homes one in Nairobi and one in Tharaka Nithi. I have land and building about Sh235 million. My two homes are worth Sh190 million. I also have savings in saccos and banks and I also do legal practice and that is it. I have vehicles of about Sh17 million," he said.

According to Kindiki, much of that income is from revenue from his law firm which is currently run by other people.

"First let me start by saying I have not benefitted from any improper business. I have not done any business with the government," Kindiki said.

"Most of the increment is because of three things, legal fees which were pending... I also do small businesses."

Kindiki spoke as he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments for vetting on Thursday.

He was the first to face the committee ahead of four others who will be vetted on Thursday.

This was an increase compared to the Sh544 million he declared in October 2022.

"My net worth is Sh544 million. Made up of land and buildings around Sh165 million, bank deposits of about Sh50 million, investment in shares and deposits in five different saccos," Kindiki said in October 2022.

He added that aside from the investments, he is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Kindiki is among the 10 CS who served in President William Ruto’s dissolved Cabinet.
