Agriculture Cabinet Secretary nominee Andrew Karanja has disclosed that he is worth Sh214,000,000.

Speaking on Friday when he appeared before the National Assembly Appointments Committee, he said this  is made up of his family residences,

"We have apartments, vehicles, plots and lands, and deposits in bank accounts," he said.

The vetting is being chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang'ula.

Four other nominees will face the vetting panel.

Karanja holds a PhD in Development Economics and Policy from Wageningen University, Netherlands, Certificate in Development oriented Research in Agriculture and a Master of Agricultural Economics from the University of Nairobi.

During the vetting, Wetang'ula urged the media to take to press more than the nominees' net worth.

He noted that there is more than net worths discussed during the process.
