My net worth has increased by Sh129m since last vetting – Duale

During his first vetting Duale said his net worth was Sh851 million and now his net worth is Sh980 million

Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS nominee Aden Duale has disclosed that his net worth is currently Sh980 million

Speaking when he appeared for vetting at the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, Duale said the wealth is in the form of assets and other investments.

"I have pieces of land both in Garissa and Nairobi, My house in Nairobi, my house in Garissa, my Cattle ranch in Garissa, my rental property in Nairobi and Garissa, my shares in family-owned businesses, my Camels and cattle, and motor vehicles," he said.

"Lastly, I got good revenue from the book sales of my Autobiography which is one of the best selling books today,"

During his first vetting as Cabinet Secretary for Defence in October 2022, Duale said his net worth at the time was Sh851 million.

"Chair, I'm worth Sh851 million including the assets I own. Including the goats, sheep and camels that I own I even had to go and value my 231 camels somewhere in Kitui county," he said then.

He also said his income at the time stood at about Sh10 million, annually.

Duale explained that the growth in his wealth was as a result of appreciation in his land and investments and real estate property.

He added that his livestock also grew in number because of a good season.

"We had very good rains my livestock grew in number."
