Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has stated that he is worth Sh530,000,000.

Appearing before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments on Saturday, he said this includes cash, real estate and farms.

"I have a farm in Siaya, Narok and some plots in Kitengela, Migori and Nairobi," he said.

Wandayi was the fourth CS nominee to appear before the committee.

He is the former leader of the Minority at the National Assembly.

Wandayi explained why he is the best candidate for the position.

He said he has been a member of the Public Investment Committee, Energy and Commercial.

This, he said, adds to his competencies to handle the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.

"Apart from being the leader of the minority, I have also been a member of the Public Investment Committee, Energy and Commercial," he said.

He exuded confidence that he has the necessary competencies that are required to handle the docket, given his academic, professional and Parliamentary background
