CS nominee for Mining, Blue economy and Maritime affairs Hassan Joho has insisted that his family does not do business with any government entity.

Speaking when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, Joho said that his family is into logistics but not with the government.

He assured the legislators that his family would never do business with the government.

"My family does not do business with any government entity. We are in logistics in Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan and Kenya," he said.

The former Mombasa governor insisted that he has always done clean business.

He also clarified the family has also diversified into real estate.

"My family does not do jewelry business. Weare in logistics and we diversified to real estate."

He also cleared the air about the allegations of being involved in drug trafficking.

Responding to a question by Teso South MP Mary Emase, Joho said while there have been numerous claims being levelled against him, there has never been any evidence to substantiate them.

He explained the late Internal Security Minister George Saitoti even at one point tabled a report in parliament that cleared him of such allegations.
