I'm ready to serve people of Kenya, Duale says ahead of swearing-in

They will be sworn in on Thursday at State House, Nairobi from 9am.

Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS nominee Aden Duale now says that he is ready to serve the people of Kenya.

In a statement ahead of the approved Cabinet Secretary nominee swearing-in on Thursday, Duale thanked President William Ruto and the National Assembly for approving his nomination.

He went on to say that he is ready to deliver on the pledges he made during his vetting.

"I extend my gratitude to President William Ruto, the Committee on Appointments and the entire National Assembly for his nomination and subsequent unanimous approval of my nomination," Duale said.

"During my approval hearings, I pledged to focus on reforestation, environmental conservation, carbon credit markets, and ensuring carbon projects benefit local communities. With the approval process complete, I am ready to serve the people of Kenya." 

President Ruto formally appointed 19 of his 20 Cabinet nominees following their approval by Parliament on Wednesday.

They will be sworn in on Thursday at State House, Nairobi from 9am.

Those appointed are Kithure Kandiki, Soipan Tuya, John Mbadi, Justin Muturi, Aden Duale, Alice Wahome,  Julian Ogamba, Davis Chirchir and  Rebecca Miano.

Others are Hassan Joho, Alfred Mutua, Murithi Muuga, Salim Mvurya, Debra Barasa, Kipchumba Murkomen, Opiyo Wandayi, Margaret Ndung'u, Wycliffe Oparanya and Dr Andrew Karanja.

The Committee on Appointments rejected Ruto's nomination of Stella Lang’at as the nominee for the Gender Ministry saying she failed to demonstrate adequate understanding of the docket.
