Attorney General nominee Dorcas Oduor has said that if approved, she will be a responsive Attorney General.

Oduor who appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Appointment on Friday said that she will also be a lawyer for the people of Kenya.

She said that should she get the job, she will walk with Kenyans to realise the vision of the Constitution of Kenya.

"I will be a responsive Attorney General and a lawyer of the people and I hope the office of Attorney General will walk with all people of Kenya in realising our aspirations under the constitution," Oduor said.

The AG nominees insisted that she wants to be the person who will actualise what the Constitution says, including protecting public interest and accountability among others.

"I vision to be an Attorney General who will actualise the vision an Attorney General under the Constitution.

"Be the principal legal adviser to govt, represent government adequately and efficiently and protect public interest, uphold the rule of law and protect human rights, good governance and accountability," Oduor said.

Oduor was nominated to join President William Ruto's Cabinet following the dismissal of the entire Cabinet.

The appointment, should she be confirmed, will make her the first Kenyan female AG.

She will take over from Justin Muturi who was reappointed to the Cabinet as CS for Public Service.

Oduor is currently the Secretary, Public Prosecutions in the office of the DPP.
