Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS Aden Duale now says that his Defence counterpart Soipan Tuya will bring a new perspective of leadership to the ministry.
Speaking as he handed over the Defence office to Tuya, Duale said she is a leader with vast experience.
He went on to say that he is confident that Tuya will address the challenges that come with the office with dedication.
Duale affirmed his full support to her and also wished Tuya success as she embarks on her new role.
"Soipan Tuya, a leader with vast experience, will bring fresh perspectives to the role. I am confident she will address the challenges ahead with dedication and skill," the former Defence CS said.
"I extend my full support to her and wish her every success in this critical role."
Duale noted that during his stint as Defence CS, he was able to enhance operational readiness as well as make key partnerships.
He added that he was very proud of the immense progress he made while heading the ministry.
"Reflecting on my tenure as Defence Cabinet Secretary, I feel immense pride in the progress we made, from enhancing our operational readiness to forging key partnerships," he said.
The handing-over ceremony was held at Ulinzi House, Nairobi on Monday.
Present at the ceremony were Chief of Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri and Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru, among other senior officials.
Earlier on Monday, Tuya who previously served as Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS handed over the former office to Duale.
The two had been nominated back to their ministries before a last-minute change by President William Ruto that saw them change their respective ministries.
