Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged the Cabinet to put in hard work and embrace ethics as they embark on their journey to serve Kenyans.
Speaking on Monday during a morning meeting with Cabinet and Principal Secretaries, Gachagua said their need to appreciate the virtues.
"You have to put in a lot of work because of where we are as a nation," he said.
Gachagua said on Tuesday, that he will be conducting a meeting to discuss further the lessons learnt from the former Cabinet.
The first Cabinet was dismissed on July 11, 2024, save for Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
The Deputy President noted the need to live in peace, and harmony and to appreciate each other.
He said there is a need to learn to live with each other, noting the Raila Odinga men in their midst.
They are Cabinet Secretaries Hassan Joho (Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs), Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and MSME Development), John Mbadi (National Treasury) and Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum).
On his part, Ruto directed the secretaries to avoid corruption, be efficient and prioritise programs that will create jobs for the young people.
He urged them to live by the oath of office they took.
He noted that they have formed a broad-based government to unite the country and rally all Kenyans behind the country's transformation journey.
"I call on those selected to serve in the Cabinet to focus on the implementation of programmes and policies that will transform the lives of Kenyans and move the country forward," he said.
"Let us not waste this golden opportunity."
