A heart-wrenching incident was witnessed on a Texas highway on Tuesday after two toddlers were thrown out of a Jeep that overturned on impact following a collision.
Footage shared online shows motorists running to rescue the children who appeared unscathed after the accident.
"The kids stood alone, a good sign. Just scrapped up," a man who originally shared the footage on Facebook said.
The incident reportedly occurred on the Interstate 10 East Freeway in Freeport, Texas.
Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez, confirmed the reports on X.
"Deputies responded to a major crash on the main lanes of the East Freeway at Freeport. A two-car crash where one of the cars flipped over several times causing ejection," he said.
He said the car that the children were travelling in was occupied by one adult and they were all taken to hospital for treatment.
“No reported injuries to the occupants in the other car," the Sherriff said.
In the video seemingly shot by phone by a motorist, a man is seen bending low to pick up one of the toddlers as another man is seen running to attend to the other toddler who is seen standing up on their own.
Both children had no clothing other than the diapers.
The vehicle they were in is seen a short distance away flipped over and resting on its bonnet.
A keen look at the footage gives the impression that the Jeep hit a white salon car from behind.
The footage attracted reviews from social media users with one saying "their parent didn't care enough to look out for them, but God did".
"That is truly amazing. God was looking after those children," another concured.
