Events lined up during elevation of Eldoret to city status

The stage is set for the ceremony to elevate Eldoret to city status.

The event is taking place at the Eldoret Sports Club.

The ceremony will start with the installation of the public seal of the Republic of Kenya followed by a procession of the conferment ceremony involving speakers of county assemblies.

It will then be followed by the consecration of the instruments of state for national posterity to be led by the KDF Chaplain.

Next in line will be the narration of the history of Eldoret followed by the governor’s execution of the conferment charter and then the presidential assent of the conferment charter.

The presidential assent will be presided over by the Solicitor General.

Then there will be the signing of the momento followed by the affixing of the public seal of the Republic of Kenya.

The high moment will be the presidential proclamation and declaration of the Municipality of Eldoret as the City of Eldoret.

It will be followed by the handover of the charter to governors from the North Rift region and then a ceremonial display of the charters.

Then there will be fanfare and handover of the momento to the host Governor and line cabinet secretary.

Then there will be a symbolic handover of the keys to the city to the governors from the region to be followed by a KDF air show and then conferment of national honours.

Church leaders will then lead the dedication of the city of Eldoret and then the unveiling of the commemorative plaque and planting of symbolic tres at Nandi Gardens in Eldoret town as the final ceremony.
