UDA founders chairperson Joe Khalende has laughed off embattled former Secretary General Cleophas Malala after he claimed that he was illegally ousted from office.

Khalende termed the claims as preposterous and vowed to continue pushing for Malala's expulsion from the party.

Khalende said the founding members Association will immediately file a disciplinary action against Malala at the Party’s Internal Dispute Resolution Committee.

This will be aimed at seeking his immediate expulsion from the Party among other remedial and consequential measures.

"We shall apply to the Party IDRM to be enjoined in the supposed petition filed by Malala at the Party," Khalende said in a statement.

The advocate said the utterances made by Malala on Thursday are outrageous and should be treated with contempt it merits.

Khalende advised Malala to accept his ouster and, at the same time warned him against using party stationery and logos to send statements to the media.

He also cautioned members of staff against engaging or transacting any business with Malala.

He clarified that the changes in the Party were done in strict compliance with the Party Constitution.

"We wish to assure our members that the party is in very steady hands under the leadership of interim SG Hassan Omar and the four issues raised that include the Audit of staff, review of all procurement processes, conclusion of grassroots elections and robust implementation of President Bottom Up Economic Agenda (BETA) are firmly on course," Khalende said.
