Detectives on Saturday arrested one suspect accused of receiving stolen hardware goods in Nairobi.

The detective said the arrest follows days and nights of investigations.

In a statement on Saturday, police alleged that the suspect is a notorious receiver of stolen hardware goods.

His arrest followed an earlier arrest of a suspect whom police claimed was hired to ferry loaders using his matatu to a location within Ruai.

From there, the loaders were transferred to a waiting Isuzu lorry.

"Having completed phase one of their mission, the ill-motivated group of suspects proceeded to a godown in the wee hours of July 27, 2024, where they gained entry and stole assorted goods but not before fatally wounding one of the employees," police said.

Police added that the suspects proceeded to Kariobangi and offloaded the said goods to the premises of another suspect.

After being paid for their services they went in different directions.

"From there on, one of the suspects started selling the stolen goods but not before detectives pounced on him and recovered iron sheets and barbed wires whose batch numbers matched the lot that was stolen at a godown," police said.

Police said the suspects will be arraigned in court.
