Police probe two defilement cases in Nyamira, Bomet

Police are investigating two separate cases of defilement in Boment and Nyamira counties.

In Bomet, police are hunting for a neighbour who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl.

She was rescued from the house of the suspect by her mother who reported the matter.

The incident happened in the Mogogosiek sub-location in Chepalungu.

The suspect is said to have disappeared after committing the heinous act.

The minor was taken to Konoin sub-county hospital where she underwent medical examination and treatment.

Meanwhile, in Riamoni Location Nyamira county, a 13-year-old girl was gang-raped by three men who accosted her while on the way home from a shop.

The three men, known already, are said to have dragged the minor into a nearby bush and defiled her.

The three are said to have lured her with Sh50 to buy her silence.

Police officers from Gesima station later visited the scene, and the victim was escorted to Keroka Sub County Hospital for medical examination and treatment.

Police have launched a search operation for the three suspects who upon arrest will be arraigned.
