Two killed in separate murder incidents in Embu

Detectives are investigating two separate cases of murder reported in Embu County.

One of the incidents happened during a robbery incident at a bakery in Majengo area on Monday, police said.

The body of Murimi Nue, 27 who was a night guard at the bakery was found with visible injuries on the head, face, and bruises on the neck and a deep cut on the right-hand palm.

Police said blood was oozing from the mouth when the body was discovered.

It is not clear what the gang stole from the facility.

Police said they suspect he was killed after he resisted the planned robbery at the bakery.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police said they are looking for his father in connection with the fatal stabbing which happened on Sunday evening.

The two had argued over a piece of land at Karurumo market before it escalated into a fight that ended tragically.

This is after the father who was armed with a kitchen knife allegedly attacked the son and stabbed him in the chest, killing him, police said.

The victim was rushed to Karurumo Health Centre where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.

Elsewhere, police in Machakos are investigating the suspected murder of a 74-year-old man in Kathiani.

The body of John Matheka Muasya was found in Kithunthi village with deep cuts on the head and face, police said.

This was after he had allegedly fought with his brother in a domestic quarrel.

Police said a wooden stick with bloodstains was recovered and kept as an exhibit.

The body was moved to Kathiani Level Four Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.

The suspected assailant was arrested for grilling and possible arraignment.

In another incident, police are investigating a murder in a case of mob injustice in Kamagambo, Migori County.

Police said the body of Tobias Odhiambo was found in the area after he had been accused of stealing a motorcycle.

He had been killed by a mob in the drama. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police discourage mob lynching and term it criminal.

They want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and prosecution.
