Activist Morara Kebaso has said his trips across the country aimed at inspecting all ongoing and stalled projects launched by the government have been sponsored by Kenyans.

Morara who has emerged as "auditor-in-chief" of sorts for government projects said he has been receiving money from Kenyans of goodwill who support his activities.

"People have sent me Sh10, Sh50 and some Sh5,000 from abroad. That's how I'm able to fuel my vehicle and pay my research assistant," he said.

"So yes, I'm funded by the people of Kenya and they will continue to fund me as long as I stay steadfast."

He spoke in an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday night.

Morara said Kenyans have committed themselves to ensure that he never lacks as he does the "audit".

He said his courage is driven by his love for the nation and his disappointment in how it is governed.

Morara pointed out that his work has been risky, saying he has had incidences where his phone is tracked.

"I  have had incidences where vehicles whose number plates could not be traced on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) hang around my house," he said.

He added that some of the projects he visits are mostly in remote areas of the country.

"Anything could happen but I leave my life to God and I believe that God is going to preserve me as he preserved King David during the time he was being pursued by King Saul because He (God) has a great future for him," he said, borrowing into the Bible.

Morara said if he opted to worry, he would not be able to do his work.
