Top Kenya Navy officers sign performance contracts

Kenya Navy Commanders and Senior Officers have signed performance contracts for the 2024/2025 financial year.

The contracts seek to drive strategic objectives and reinforce the Navy's role in ensuring maritime security for Kenya.

Kenya Navy Commander Major General Paul Otieno presided over the ceremony at the Kenya Navy Headquarters in Mtongwe, Mombasa.

The contracts outline specific targets that will guide the Kenya Navy in its mission to safeguard Kenya’s maritime sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"I commended the officers for their exemplary performance, in maintaining impeccable financial records," Major Otieno said.

Major General Otieno also commended the Formation Commanders and Senior Officers for their outstanding performance.

He said their commitment to the work resulted in the Kenya Navy maintaining clean books of accounts. 

Major General Otieno encouraged the officers to prudently use resources by following established guidelines to sustain the high level of excellence demonstrated by the Kenya Navy over the years.

He said the Kenya Navy has embarked on robust transformational systems and projects to enhance their capabilities and address the welfare of our sailors.

 "This will help us steer the service to the highest levels of effectiveness as we execute our mandate," he said.

In attendance were Deputy Commander Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa and Principal Staff Officers.

The officers underscored the Navy's commitment to both operational excellence and the well-being of its personnel.
