President William Ruto has praised his recent working visit to Nyanza, saying that the things God can do are amazing.

Speaking in Bungoma where he attended a church service on Sunday, Ruto said that it was almost a miracle the people who were not on his side are now his friends.

He said that now they interact as though they have been brothers and sisters for a very long time.

The President said that it shows the beauty of the country when people put aside their differences to push for the greater good of the country.

"I have just come from a trip in Nyanza and it is amazing what God can do, it is almost a miracle that the people who were on extreme sides a few months ago today we are speaking as though we are very long time brothers and sisters and friends," Ruto said.

"That is the beauty of our country, that when circumstances demand, we close ranks as a people, we forge alliances as a people, we have been building bridges as Kenyans and we work together for the greater good of our nation."

Ruto was referring to the warm reception he received in Kisumu and other parts of Nyanza where he was on a four-day development tour that ended on Saturday.

The Nyanza region is a stronghold of ODM leader Raila Odinga and when Ruto visited he was partly welcomed with hostility.

However, after appointing members of the Opposition party into his cabinet, and closing ranks with Raila, the atmosphere in the Opposition leader's strongholds was different from what it has been previously.

During his remarks, Ruto said that he will do everything within his power to unite the country.

The President said that he will work with all leaders and people of Kenya without discrimination because that is the spirit of the Kenyan Constitution.

He added that it is also the will of God for all leader to work together.

"I also promise that I will work for all the people of Kenya, without discrimination, without exclusion because that is what is demanded of government by the Constitution."
