Digital Strategist Denis Itumbi has officially taken over the office of the  Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President.

Itumbi highlighted his first assignments as the head of the office, saying they aim to unite the youths.

In a statement on X, Itumbi said he met with UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar to discuss ways to partner with youths.

He said they aim to partner on nationwide town halls for youth, plus a joint talent search and empowerment program.

"Advancing Kenya Kwanza Manifesto in action! Follow-up meeting tomorrow to plan next steps. This is the Home of Ideas connecting dreams to reality!" he said.

Itumbi said this year’s Mashujaa Day will be themed #BomaYangu to highlight the success of the Affordable Housing programme—jobs created, the Jua Kali sector boosted, and homes built nationwide.

"As Chair of the Presidential Committee on National Holiday Thematic Celebrations, I held a meeting with officers organising the week from October 14-19 in Kwale. Connecting dreams to reality!"

Ruto appointed Itumbi on August 23, 2024, after the approval of the Public Service Commission.

"This appointment will go into fostering this administration's zeal for innovation and growth towards a robust yet novel sector in the economic sphere," Head of the Public Service Commission Felix Koskei said in a statement.

In July 2023, Itumbi was among the 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries appointed by the President.

He had been appointed to the Ministry of Information and Communication and the Digital Economy.

However, the High Court quashed the appointments, saying they were unconstitutional.
