KPLC restores power in some areas after outage

Kenya Power has restored electricity in several parts of the country, hours after the reported outage.

The company in an update on the outage said supply had been restored to parts of North Rift, Western, Central Rift, Nairobi and Mt Kenya.

"This includes major towns such as Nyeri, Embu, Kirinyaga, Nanyuki, Nakuru, Naivasha, Thika, Eldoret, Kericho, Kakamega, Siaya, Busia, Vihiga, Kisumu, Bungoma and Webuye," Kenya Power said.

"We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvinience caused by the outage and seek their patience as we work towards restoration of normal services in the remaining areas," it said.

Kenya Power has however not stated the cause.

The company has apologised for any inconvenience caused noting plans are underway to restore it.

"We are experiencing a power outage affecting several parts of the country, except sections of North Rift and Western regions," Kenya Power said in a statement.
