Nairobi Expressway to be closed temporarily Saturday 9:30pm

The closure of the road is to allow for the Nairobi City Marathon scheduled for Sunday.

The Nairobi Expressway will from Saturday 9:30pm be closed temporarily to pave the way for the 3rd edition of the Nairobi City Marathon.

Moja Expressway company, which manages the road, said a communication will be issued on the time the road will be opened in due course.

Nairobi City Marathon, according to its website, said the road will be closed between Saturday 10 pm and Sunday 4 pm.

"The resumption of normal operations will be communicated in due course. We kindly urge all motorists to plan their journeys in advance," the company said.

This year's edition of the Nairobi City Marathon is about "pushing ourselves to the limit and achieving our personal best". 

The second edition of our marathon was held on July 02, 2023, and saw new champions who topped the winning time records from the previous year.

Robert Kipkemboi finished at (2:07:38), while Naomi Jebet crossed the finish line at (2:24:33).

"The third edition of the marathon will feature new and enjoyable surprises. Don't miss out on this action-packed event!" the Nairobi City Marathon said.
