A court in Nakuru has issued a warrant of arrest against Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and his former deputy John Barorot.

The two were to testify in a case in which Senator Jackson Mandago is charged with three others in connection to the Sh1 billion Finland education program.

The warrant was issued by Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Ndege when the case came up for hearing.

The prosecution led by Angeline Chinga said the two had been bonded and asked to be in court but they were absent.

The defence in the case led by lawyer Stephen Bungei demanded the warrant of arrest be issued arguing that the two ignored court orders to appear.

Ndege agreed with the defence and issued the warrant
