Police are investigating the cause of the fire at Uhuru Secondary School, Nairobi where Two dormitories were burnt down in a fire incident on Sunday morning.

According to police, the fire erupted when the students were in a church service.

Upon visiting the scene, police established two dormitories housing form three students with 105 beds caught fire and properties of unknown value were destroyed.

Nairobi county government fire engine was deployed to the scene and managed to contain the spread of the fire.

Police say the school management accounted for all the students after the fire had been contained.

The incident comes in the wake of a wave of fire incidents reported in the country.

Among those affected are Isiolo Girls, Kagonye Secondary and Njia Boys.

The causes of the incident are yet to be established but police suspect arson.

Elsewhere in Embakasi, a man was found dead in his house in Tasia Kwa Ndege area.

According to police, the man had failed to report to work forcing his employer to send the rider to his house to check on his whereabouts.

Upon arrival, the rider told police they discovered his lifeless body lying on a mattress in his house.

Police officers rushed to the scene during which they established that his body had no visible injuries.

The body was moved to the City mortuary pending investigations, police said.
