Pwani University fourth year student found dead in Kilifi

A fourth-year student at the Pwani University in Kilifi was found dead in a suspected murder.

The body of the student was found in Kisumu Ndogo area on Sunday long after he had been killed.

Police said the body had physical injuries.

It is not clear what caused the death of the 24-year-old student.

Police said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder and efforts to trace more suspects are ongoing.

The body was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in Loitoktok, Kajiado County, the body of a 30-year-old woman was found in a thicket after suspected rape and murder.

Police said they were called to the scene and recovered two condoms and an empty bottle of beer following the Saturday night incident.

The motive of the incident is yet to be established.

Police who visited the scene said the woman had injuries in the mouth and neck.

The recovered items were kept as exhibits pending an autopsy at a local mortuary, police said.

In Molo, Nakuru County, a body of a man was found on the roadside in a suspected murder.

Police said the body had bruises on the forehead when it was discovered and long after the murder.

A suspect was arrested over the murder, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary.

In Kasagam, Kisumu, a decomposed body of a man was found in a house by locals.

Locals in Bonde village said they were disturbed by a bad smell coming from one of the unoccupied houses within the compound and upon checking they found the partly decomposed body of an unknown male adult.

Police said the body had a deep cut wound on the left side of the head.

It was suspected the deceased was murdered somewhere else and the body dumped at the scene.

The body was moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem and identification.

The decomposed body had visible deep cuts on the head and the scene seemed not disturbed with a possible indication that the deceased was killed elsewhere and the body dumped there.

Police believe the scene where the body was found was secondary.

The body was moved to Nyambene Level IV Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Cases of murder are on the rise in the country amid calls on parties involved to solve their issues amicably.
