The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has begun the process of searching for a new chairperson ahead of the exit of Lyn Mengich.
Mengich who was appointed in September in 2018 is set to leave office this month after concluding her six-year tenure.
In a notice in the local dailies, the SRC selection panel which commenced its work last week said those interested should have a 10-year experience in public management, finance and administration, economics, human resource management or labour laws.
They should hold a degree from a recognised university in Kenya and have an understanding of the labour market trends in Kenya relating to income in private and public sectors.
Interested persons are not supposed to be affiliated with any political party, bankrupt or have been removed from office for breaching the law.
Applications from those holding political seats in parliament or county assembly will not be accepted, said the panel.
They are to be submitted manually to the Ministry of Public Service at Harambee House or emailed to [email protected] on or before September 23, 2024, at 5pm.

The role of the chairperson is to ensure the commission meets its mandate as outlined in Article 230(4) and 239 of the Constitution which includes chairing the commission's meetings, helping in forming policies, providing strategic direction to the commission and maintaining firm linkages with stakeholders and government sectors.
Members of the panel appointed by President William Ruto a week ago are Joshua Wambua, representing the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA), Patrick Mtange (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya-ICPAK) and Monica Sifuna (Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis-KIPPRA).
Others are Quresha Abdullahi (Institute of Human Resource Management), Amos Gathecha (Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Service), Mary Kimonye (Executive Office of the President), Lawrence Kibet (National Treasury and Economic Planning) and Samuel Kaumba (Office of the Attorney General).
Outgoing commissioners have already handed over their reports.
