The body of a woman wrapped in a blanket has been exhumed from the shallow grave in Trans Nzoia.

She had been buried without a casket

The discovery was made as homicide officers began digging up a shallow grave found at a home in Trans Nzoia county that is suspected to contain more bodies.

The shallow grave is located behind a mud house at Kaliwa village in the Waitaluk ward

Two suspects have been arrested as the homicide officers were deployed to guard a home last night.

An unknown number of people are suspected to have been buried secretly.

Trans Nzoia County police commander Jeremiah Ole Kosiom says they had obtained a court order to dig the grave

“We have two suspects in custody and we will know the whole truth,” said the police boss.

Those arrested are owners of the home where the shallow grave was discovered.
